Wow. What a nightmare. COVID 19. Lockdowns for 16 weeks (luckily we were able to visit the farm, but under strict conditions). Almost unable to walk with my dud hip .... a battery of medical tests and procedures .... finally a new hip operation in December 2020 and I hope to resume proper farm work in March 2021. I was on the tractor at Gisborne yesterday (23 January) for the first time in 2 months. Fortunately I had prepared both farms prior to my operation and on inspection this week both farms are in reasonable condition. The cattle are thriving .... best Spring ever and I had deliberately destocked last year after the drought.
