Calves calves calves!!! With my broken ankle and the resultant removal of the bulls mid April, we weren't sure if we would get any calves this Spring, and with the poor season and reliance on imported hay the herd was a little underdone ... so it was not immediately obvious if the cows were in calf. But November has given us 5 calves already, with possibly 2-3 more to come. It is wonderful to see the happy healthy calves playing in the now abundant grass. Once again, we have a red calf from a black cow, and a black calf from a red cow.
